Samsung Galaxy S 10.5,The Super AMOLED Tablet

Samsung’s long-rumored 10.5-inch Super AMOLED tablet is finally here. The company just unveiled the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 at a press event in New York, offering our first official look at the new flagship tablet.

The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 comes equipped with a 2560 x 1600-pixel display at 287 ppi, an Exynos 5 Octa processor, a 7900mAh battery, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage with microSD support up to 128GB, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. It also features the same fingerprint scanner introduced with the Galaxy S5.

The device runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Samsung’s own customized UI on top, including a new digital magazine called Papergarden, a specialized Kids Mode and Multi User Mode, which lets you log into your personalized account with a swipe of your finger. This is still Android though, and you can customize your device however you see fit. You’ll also have access to all of Google’s popular apps from YouTube to the Play Store.

Toshiba Excite Go-a unique budget tab

Toshiba Excite Go-Spec Talk

Toshiba just announced its latest Android tablet, a 7-inch slate that costs just over $100 and hits the market in early July.

The Excite Go is a sleek little tablet. At just 7-inches across with a weight of 12.5 ounces it’s easy to hold with one hand, though it’s a bit bulkier than the Nexus 7 (2013), which weighs just 10.23 ounces. Google’s stock Android tablet also offers an impressive 1920 x 1200-pixel display compared to Toshiba’s 1024 x 600-pixel resolution. That said, the Excite Go’s screen looked pretty sharp if a little glossy.

The back of Toshiba’s new Android tablet is made of textured grey plastic. It feels nice to the touch and offers a firm grip, but it definitely doesn’t scream high-end device. When you consider the Excite Go’s price, however, it all makes sense. At just $109.99 it’s more than $100 cheaper than the Nexus 7. (more…)
